Getting StartedWhen you become an official student, you're given access to prep course content. This pre-work will take you through the fundamentals of programming with C#, HTML, and CSS. Completing and fully understanding the pre-work is essential for our students to prepare themselves for the course. By the end of the remote-prep pre-work, you will be ready to take on the fast pace of our on-campus learning!
Intro to Modern ProgrammingThis is the ramp-up period where you'll meet your classmates, teachers, and the TrueCoders family. Beyond getting to know your new community, you will learn how to set up your development environment for in-class learning. We'll start with one of the most overlooked tools in programming today, source control using Git and Github. Then you'll begin building upon the fundamentals of programming with C# in .NET Core, and you'll start to put those fundamentals into practice. As a successful developer, you will need to understand how to use this language effectively, so get ready for intense days learning followed up by the occasional game of ping pong.
BackendDuring this module, we will dive into the Backend world. You will learn everything you need about programming a server using SQL, Git, and GitHub; additionally, you will learn about relational databases. Finally, you will learn how to make HTTP requests, and how to integrate APIs into your application to deploy them for production. You will finish the second module creating an application using all the information you just learned in SQL. The goal is to get you where you are completely comfortable as a backend developer.
Finding You a JobWeek 7, 8, and 9 will be jam-packed with final project work and activities to get you ready for the job hunt. You can expect personal and technical interview workshops, portfolio preparation, and job hunting tips. Once you graduate, if you are not in a job yet, you will come into the office and work with the TrueCoders Job Placement team full time until you're placed in a software development role. The job placement process is something the TrueCoders placement team will be working with you on throughout the entire 9-week process but will heighten in intensity closer toward the end of the class.
