Remote Night Class Overview

Prework
Getting Started
When you become an official student, you're given access to prep course content. This pre-work will take you through the fundamentals of programming with C#, HTML, and CSS. Completing and fully understanding the pre-work material will help you prepare for the learning curve in coding. By the end of the remote-prep pre-work, you will be ready to take on the fast pace of our remote learning!
Month 1
Intro to Modern Programming
This is the ramp-up period where you'll meet your classmates, teachers, and the TrueCoders family. Beyond getting to know your new community, you will learn how to set up your development environment for remote learning. We'll also take an in-depth look into of the most overlooked tools in programming today, source control using Git and Github. Then you'll begin building upon the fundamentals of programming with C# in .NET Core, and you'll start to put those fundamentals into practice. As a successful developer, you will need to understand how to use this language effectively, so get ready for intense days of learning from the comfort of home.
Month 2-4
Backend
During this module, we will dive into the Backend world. You will learn everything you need about programming a server using SQL, Git, and GitHub; additionally, you will learn about relational databases. Finally, you will learn how to make HTTP requests and integrate APIs into your applications for deploying to production. You will finish the second module creating an application using all the information you just learned in SQL. The goal is to get you where you are completely comfortable as a backend developer.
Month 5
Advanced Cutting Edge Best Practices
During the last module, you will be learning how to build a website using ASP.NET Core MVC. Also, you will learn JavaScript. JavaScript is a scripting or programming language that allows you to implement complex features on web pages. Every time a web page does more than just sit there and display static information for you to look at, such as displaying timely content updates, interactive maps, animated 2D/3D graphics, scrolling video jukeboxes, etc. -- you can bet that JavaScript is probably involved. We will also be diving back into HTML and CSS to reinforce what you've already learned during the prework.
Final Project
Finding You a Job
Week 7, 8, and 9 will be jam-packed with final project work and activities to get you ready for the job hunt. You can expect personal and technical interview workshops, portfolio preparation, and job hunting tips. Once you graduate, if you are not in a job yet, you will continue working with the TrueCoders Job Placement team full time until you're placed in a software development role. The job placement process is something the TrueCoders placement team will be working with you on throughout the entire 9-week process but will heighten in intensity closer toward the end of the class.
